Expected DA Slabs for the month of May - July 2014 would based on the monthly announcements of Consumer Price Index for the month of Jan 2014 to March 2014. The CPI for the month of Jan 2014 announced as 5410 & for the month of Feb. 2014 as 5432.56
The revised dearness allowances for the month of May - July 2014 would become payable on the average CPI for the month of Jan 2014 to March 2014. On the basis of CPI data available for the one month Jan 2014 & Feb. 2014 and on assumptions CPI for the month of March 2014 as of Feb 2014 (which is slightly higher than of Jan. 2014).
However, no banker would like that their salary be reduced due to less DA slabs payable from what they are presently getting. The CPI data presently available for the month of Jan 2014 and Feb 2014 and assumptions of March 2014 as of Feb 2014 (i.e. 5432.56) it comes to decrease of 19 DA slabs (tentatively) for the quarter of May - July 2014.
(We reiterate here that earlier on announcement of CPI by Govt. for the month of Jan 2014, we have calculated decrease of 23 DA slabs (tentatively) would become payable for the month of May - July 2014 on the basis of CPI data available for the month Jan 2014 and on assumption the same CPI for the rest of two months Feb & March 2014, which now has been recalculated as decrease of 19 DA slabs (tentatively) would become payable for the month of May - July 2014 on announcement of CPI for the month of Feb. 2014 by Govt.)
Please note that it is only tentative number of DA slabs assessed for the quarter May - July 2014 based on assumptions of CPI (Consumer Price Index) as above. Further, on release of CPI data for the month of March 2014 the eaxact number of DA slabs that would become payable for the quarter of May - July 2014 shall be assessed.
