How to apply for allotment of fresh PAN (Permanent Account Number)
and Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data

You may apply for allotment of fresh PAN and Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data or reprint of PAN card by -

  1. Online Application - An online application can be made from the website of UTIITSL or NSDL
  2. Through PAN Application Center - Application for PAN can be submitted at the PAN Application center with duly filled enclosed with requisite documents.

Online application can be made either through the portal of NSDL ( https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/index.html) or portal of UTITSL (https://www.utiitsl.com/UTIITSL_SITE/pan/index.html).

The applicant has to select the type of Application from the following options -

  • New PAN - Indian Citizen - Form 49A(Click Here to view / download fillable form 49A in Fillable / Editable pdf Format)
  • New PAN - Foreign Citizen - Form 49AA (Click Here to view / download fillable form 49A in Fillable / Editable pdf Format)
  • Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data / Reprint of PAN Card No changes in existing PAN Data) (Click Here - to view / download Form NO. 49A -1 in Fillable / Editable pdf Format)

    The applicant has to select the category from the following options -

  • INDIVIDUAL
  • ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS
  • BODY OF INDIVIDUALS
  • COMPANY
  • TRUST
  • LIMITED LIABILITY PARTNERSHIP
  • FIRM
  • GOVERNMENT
  • HINDU UNDIVIDED FAMILY
  • ARTIFICIAL JURIDICAL PERSON
  • LOCAL AUTHORITY

    Charges or Fee

    The applicable charges for applying of PAN for Indian communication address and for foreign communication address are be paid . For online application the payment of application fee can be made through credit/debit card or net-banking. Once the application and payment is accepted.

    Documents be submitted along with the PAN application

    The applicant is required to send the supporting documents through courier/post to NSDL/UTITSL. Only after the receipt of the documents, PAN application would be processed by NSDL/UTITSL.

    For New PAN applications, in case of Individual and HUF applicants if Address for Communication is selected as Office, then Proof of Office Address along with Proof of residential address is to be submitted to NSDL.
