Keeping in view of last salary revisions (10th BPS) wherein Basic Pay of officers scale 1 to 7 revised from 7200-24900 to 11765-42020 i.e. initial basic pay increased about 60%. Accordingly, in this calculator Basic pay of officers scale 1 to 7 is assumed as 18800 to 69600 with assumptions of increments in round of hundreds at different stages with relation to last pay revised. The basic pay stages taken here are based only and only on assumptions for calculation of tentative amount of expected revised pay. As there is nothing in black and white that special allowance will be also a part of salary in 11 BPS as hugely demanded for its merger with basic pay, however special allowance in this calculator is taken with default rate of 10% and also provided option for users to enter any rate of expected revised rate of special allowance for calculation of expected revised salary / arrears. The other assumptions of calculations that relates the rates of allowances are provided at both the calculators 1 & 2. It is again and again informed that the website does not claim that the calculations and the results displayed here are correct, complete and up-to-date with site disclaimers.

As regards to special allowance default taken as 15% (with option for users to change the rate as per the information / updates comes to their notice). In this calculator to calculate tentative amount of expected salary, default for calculation special allowance is taken as part of salary with default rate 15% with option for users to change / enter the any other rate as they expect or the existing rate would be the revised rate of special allowance for calculation. Steps to use new feature to calculate Special Pay and HRA ▼ ▲

Click the respective button to enter Special Pay and HRA. The user will see the different HRA and Special Pay rates payable presently with the coded to be entered in the respective month box provided there under. Please follow following simple step for your desired calculations.

  1. In case one rate of HRA / Special Pay drawn during all the period of arrear calculations - Enter the rate you were drawing in Nov'17 or in the month from when started drawing and leave the earlier months blank and there is no need to enter code in the remaining months, the system will treat as zero itself for earlier months and as well the rate as enterred in all next remaining months. (in case there is any change in rate is required to enter between the entire period view second step.)
  2. In case more than one rate of HRA / Special Pay drawn during the period of arrear calculations - Enter your code HRA / Special Pay in the month you first drawn (as per step one) and leave the next months boxes blank till the period there is no change in salary you had drawn. Now, ener the new code (as mentioned under the button of HRA / Special Pay) in the month when you had drawn different rate of HRA or Special Pay and leave the months blank till the period there is no change. e.g. if an employee getting HRA @10% in Nov'17 transferred in Apr'18 to a place where HRA @9% is payable. Further in Apr' 18 he is transferred at new place where HRA @10%. In this case for HRA calculation the user will enter the code as under :-
After clicking HRA button the user will enter code only in the month of Nov'17, Apr'18 and Apr'19, i.e. the months when there is a change of HRA rate payable and leave blank other months boxes. (Please note that the system auto treats blank boxes as per previous rate entered.)
    (i) 100 (code for 10% HRA) in Nov'17 month.
(ii)101 (code for 9% HRA) in Apr'18 month.
(iii)100 (code for 10% HRA in Apr'19 month.
The above example will now clarify users that code are to be filled first when it is started payable i.e. Nov'17 or the month when it first becomes payable and later to be filled only in the month there was any change took place and no need to enter in all the other months, as the system auto calculate your salary on the basis of previous rate entered.
